7.26-27.2024 / Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruiz-In; Dalton, Georgia
Submitted by NSC Member, LInda Barfield
We had a great weekend at the Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruiz-In with friends. Rain had been in the weather forecast and the car attendance was extremely low this year. But, we made the best of it. It actually turned out to be the best weekend for us. The weather was perfect, cloudy and cool! It never rained on us either car show day. Only when we left Sunday morning, but we didn’t care then because it was over!

We had great entertainment Friday night. The Kentucky Headhunters performed and they were great! The highlight of my trip was meeting Jeanie Coleman from Douglasville, Georgia. She and her husband, Ken, completely restored their 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air. This was their 3rd car rebuild and they managed to do this while both working full time jobs. But, Jeanie was the one that did all the talking! This was her car and she made all the decisions on what she wanted done on the car and did most of the work herself. Her husband wanted to change out the engine to a V8 but she wanted to leave the original 235 blue flame 6 cylinder engine in it until it blew up! It was very important to her to keep everything original. She helped her husband wire the car. She chose all the materials and completely designed and installed the interior. The list goes on! She was so amazing to listen to her talk about her car and what she had done. She gave my friend several ideas and info on rebuilding her 1964 Chevrolet 2 door hardtop. We probably talked with her 30 to 45 minutes and finally had to walk away because someone else came up.
